Thai Buddha Amulet – Home
Welcome to Thai Buddha Amulet, the one stop resource in English Language for researching Thai Buddha Amulets. The purpose of this website is to reveal the mystique of sacred Thai Buddha Amulets by sharing as much knowledge as we can about the magical guru monks that have constructed the amulets all the way back to the Venerable Luang Por Tuad who was born over 500 years ago.
This is a significant time as many of the senior Amulet making monks have passed away in the past couple of decades and the large numbers of peers who are still living are approaching the twilight of their years.
The material found here at Thai Buddha Amulet is original in content derived from historic articles and pamphlets found in the many of the Thai temples that have been home to each specific monk. Some information is also in the public domain; we tend to look at the Thai information for accuracy and then provide our own translations. Where information is scarce we aim to verify snippets by visiting senior Abbots who have had contact, and therefore recollect the history, of the particular Monk we are researching. On many occasions we will contact the temples by telephone.
Thai Buddha Amulet aims to add more monks each week; this undertaking will take a number of years to complete, so we hope our visitors will return regularly to view and enjoy the updates. Many of the monks will not be famous in the English Language arena, which is why this website is different. We will provide you with English content that has only ever been discussed in the Thai specialist Amulet arena (among Thais) to bring this fascinating subject to historians and collectors alike across the English speaking countries of the world. There are many other types of Amulet; however this site specialises in Thai Buddhist Amulets
