LP Wâat was a highly revered monk with special powers. He was ordained at Wat Wat Laem Ngop in Trat Province, it is unclear in which year. What is known is he fled, along with his relatives, the chaos of the French invasion in 1893 by boat. They eventually landed unscathed in Rayong where LP Wâat set about establishing the temple now known as Wat Phlong Sawai. Here he established a centre for Dharma practice and meditation and he was loved by all the surrounding residents. He demonstrated incredible magical powers with a high level of science and became known as a healer who could cure many diseases. Many came huge distances to be blessed and healed by him. He died peacefully of old age in 1944.

After LP Wâat passed LP Song Piyawanyo became the Abbot; he created this amulet in memory of the great ‘healer’ monk in BE2517. He also created a statue, a medallion, and a portrait of LP Wâat.
